Are they worth the $180. I bought a set of BBK, but found out they are the cheap ones that is a add on to your crank pully. So I sold and now am looking at Steeda's kit, there kit replaces the crank pully. Just wondering if they really make power or if I should just skip. Thanks

not quite but close to a tenth. Add a timing adjuster if you dont already have a tune, it takes 30 seconds to adjust and will work great with your spray.

I am considering a set too. They say they improve horsepower. I think they do, I dont know how much though. I would like to hear more about this topic too

Yeah Iam just trying to get my motor back together and in the car. Dont want to spend money on them if not needed. Also Iam going to get a custom tune once I get it running again. Got about 2 weeks before heads and pistons get back from machine shop, so I'am trying to get all my parts now, so nothing slows me down. Thanks

Are they worth it? Depends on the individual. I've seen them add approx. 5-7 horsepower at the wheels. If you are going the bolt-on route, I would definetly get Steeda pulleys. If you have more money to spend on your car, I'd save up for a supercharger instead.

I wouldn't really recommend pulleys if you have a serious upgraded stereo in your vehicle, as the pulleys underdrive your alternator pulley resulting in less electrical power to your accessories.

Lets say you can get the pulleys for $180 inc. shipping, and you gain 5 horsepower. Thats $36/horsepower. Thats very very good.

FWIW!

Lets not forget the marginally better gas mileage as well.

i didnt really notice a gain putting them on my car, it does however help with everyday driving, the car doesnt bog as bad with the a/c on, and it seemed to have a little more grunt part throttle. wot didnt notice much of a gain though. i bought mine used for $85

Thats the thing, in a year I'll be adding a supercharger or turbo, so if I go turbo, I can keep them, but if I get a vortech instead, I'll have to put stock back on. As for stereo stuff, thats a thing of the past.

Depends if you feel it is worth it for a year. You could always buy them now, and just sell them later. Shouldn't loose too much money if you install them yourself.

Yeah, that would work. I do all my own work other than machining, so that would not matter. Might buy a flywheel and clutch instead. Thanks

if you dont mind me asking, how were you running 8.8's @ 84mph with a 1.9 60ft?
Im running 8.8's at 77-78mph with 1.98ish 60 foot. Do you have the readout of the entire run? That seems an increadibly high MPH for that time and 60ft.

Dont have time slip, but that was my best time to this date with motor. Not really sure how I did it but hopfully I can get back to track and get some new times with some slips to back. With there was a 1/4 mile close than 2 1/2 hours. Always have to run a 1/8.

I think they are worth it. I'm going to stay N/A for a while so every little mod helps. I'm about to finish my N/A build with stage one cams, LT headers and HPS hardballer intake (should be close to 300rwhp). So if you are going to be N/A for a while order some up.

I have had mine for a long time now and have been happy with them. It wasn't a huge increase but it all adds up...I might have to take them off eventually if I go the supercharged route...

Your going to love it. I cant wait to get my motor back in my car. Wrong time of year to take heads to machine shop. He said he was 3 weeks behind, that I would be about a month before they were doon, then have to break motor in, then go to the dyno, and finally, the drag strip, where it all counts. Let me know how the pullys turn out.

I second that. I also think they are worth it. I also had a marginal gain in power. I also gained about 1mpg after the install. Pearl02.
