When driving down the freeway I can turn my steeringwheel about an inch left/right before the wheel turns. It is very loose during that inch or so.

Otherwise the steering is tight, it really bugs me!

get it checked. If I turn my wheel an inch, I'd be in the ditch. Very responsive

If your car is lowered, you may just need some $20 off-set steering rack bushings...
