steering racks.. cobra & GT

could someone tell me what the ratio for the cobra sterring rack is?? and also what the ratio is for the GT rack?? i am thinking about putting a GT steering rack in my car because the stock cobra one i have now is way to "easy" to turn the wheels. i want a steering that requires more force to turn. thanks!!

I dont think the GT one provides any more force. You have to somehow get a rack thats got stiffer valving to it. I havent found any, as i was looking for a stiffer rack about 7 months ago. I decided to keep mine- even though its effortless to turn.

well, the reason i'm asking is because my moms 01 GT requires a good amount more force to turn the wheels than my 01 cobra. i called the ford dealership, and they said there is a difference between the GT and Cobra steering racks, but the lady i was talkin to said the computer does not tell her the ratios on either of them.

wow... then your cobra must be REALLY effortless.. because my GT feels like you could turn the wheel by blowing on it...

If it helps, my lock to lock is about 2.5 turns.

Get some U/D pulleys....it makes a noticable difference on how hard it is to turn the wheel.
And why would you want it hard to turn anyways...the easier the better for me
