Is it possible to remove the steering wheel without having the puller? I have -$25,000 in my bank (identity theft), so I can't buy or lease the tool.

Some folks have done it. They remove the bolt, grab both sides of the wheel, and yank like hell. Make sure your head and elbows won't hit anything when the wheel suddenly pops loose.

I use a puller myself.

I tried that yesterday, but no dice.

I went to a shop where I have connections, and borrowed his puller kit. Its a bit overkill.

Got it out, with the puller. It really surprised me how easily it came of with the puller. Thanks

Good deal. I think the puller is the best way to go, anyway.

i've heard of people not using a puller but that might be for after the first removal of the factory wheel. they say to leave the nut on a few threads to stop it from flying off an knocking your teeth out.
