anyone ever successfully changed steering wheels on an air bag car

I didnt change mine but i just had mine off trying to figure out why my airbag light flashes. Just make sure to disconnect the battery for a few minutes before doing anything to prevent the air bag from deploying.

all you have to do is disconnect the battery like Dave14 said. make sure you disconnect the battery for roughly 10 minutes before you start

i know the dos and donts about air bags i want to put on a grant wheel instead of factory or an svo wheel i hate the big air bag wheel

You would probably have to find a way to tell the computer the air bag was still there or disconnect the system all together, otherwise you'll always get a light. There is a blue box on the right side of the radio up under the dash. Its the air bag module. Might have to dissconnect that. DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT, cause I'm not 100% sure.

I just replaced mine with an 86 GT 3 spoke, and to stop the airbag light, and warning beeps, I put in a jumper wire for the airbag plug.
