Well I didn't get the motor fired today, didn't get all the parts in time and still a have a few things to finish up but it is getting close.

My question is, everything is new top to bottom (except block and crank, but all the machine work was done to block) ust wondering when I first get this thing cracked up what is the proper procedure for breakin. I am talking for initial start up to the first 100 miles of driving. I know on most motors I worked on in the past we had to rev the motor up to 2000 rpm for the first 20-30 mins but that was for flat tappet lifters, should this be done for a roller cam. What else do I need to know or look for.

Just so you guys know I have a good idea of what to check and do but I am looking for things I am not thinking of or don't know about with these newer motors (most previous projects were 60s and 70s SBC).

Thanks guys!

No break in for roller cams. Sure you know about priming motor with oil and changing oil after about the first 20-30 minutes.
