Hi all, just bought an 07 Cali edition with 22k miles yesterday. I havent been very active on here because I couldnt decide on what car to go with, was leaning toward a cts-v, but their diff problems turned me away. I was wondering if my car has an LSD or an open diff? I'm pretty sure that I do not have the optional 3.55 and was wondering if that meant that mine was an open type... I could not find a definite answer via search, but would not be surprised if I used incorrect keywords...

input appreciated

Your 8.8 has a clutch type LSD. Pretty stout for a stock too.

Like he said it's a LSD but I wanted to add. The window stickers and the spec sheets are kind of confusing concerning this. At first I was under the impression that if you didn't have the 3.55s you weren't getting the LSD. I bought my car pretty much on that basis. I could of got one with HIDs ... No big deal since I'm still going to change the gears in it.

Yeah it is confusing. I wanted to make sure before I went spending dough . My main concern is lsd for winter, but will need blizzaks anyway... in the future i may upgrade as well, for now now ill be happy with an intake and 93 tune =D

You can always do a clutch dump at redline and count the stripes

But yeah the great thing about these cars (especially if you are into imports too) is the stock LSD something I used to drool over when I had my Nissan.

Still I'd like a helical on my car which I'll swap as soon as I can.

same boat here. I crashed my modded maxima (van crashed into my left), then bought an element to have high crash rating out of fear, and now figured the stang was the best value car with 4 seats..

edit: element got boring very quickly...

If you want to know what gears you have, just look under your car at the shiney rear differential cover. Mine has a sticker on it that says 3.55s

All GTs have an LSD. I'm pretty sure GTs have always had one since the fox body days haven't they?
