I was driving home today on the highway, pushed in the clutch to downshift and the RPM's hung at like 2000 rpm, I hit the throttle a couple times and it wouldn't come down. So I let the tranny slow the rpms down push the clutch in and rpms drop but very slowly. I start to get concerned knowing I'll hit traffic and the rpms won't come down and actually increase to almost 3000 rpm, so I pull off, kill the car,and pop the hood to check for anything loose on the throttle body and maf sensor. Nothing, so I bump the throttle a couple times, start the car and it's ok the rest of the way home. Any ideas, something starting to go bad maybe??
