???? strange sounds

I have some tapping sounds coming from underneath my car. They are not coming from the engine. They are very distinct when I am next to another car and get faster when the RPM's get higher. I am having a hell of a time trying to figure out what is causing this. Exhaust maybe? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Sounds like an exhaust leak. If you can get your car on a lift or on jack stands, go underneath and look for black soot around joint in the exhaust system. If you see none, start you car and run your hand down the top of the pipes where you can't see, you should be able to feel if there is a leak by air coming out. Good luck

I had a ticking sound and thought it was the head tick thing but Ford said it was the pressure plate fingers were bent. They put a new clutch , plate and bearing in and it feels like I have about 50 more horsepower now. The ticking noise is still there but not as loud.

turns out it was a loose cat cover. I took it to the local muffler shop and they spot welded it for me. Anyway, all fixed.
