I haven't heard of a way to check what kind of stripe it originally had. Almost all of the Acapulco Blues I've seen were bllack and gold stripes. Sorry bnickel not trying to flame or anything, but that will look a lot better than the all gold and its what most had.

I have an Acapulco Blue Mach 1 also. From the research I have done I have found that it depends on the interior color. White interior got gold stripes & black interior got black stripes. I am sure that this varied with availability of stripe colors on hand when the car was built.

Personnaly I will be going with the gold stripe with my black interior.

Mike

How good was the "new" paint job?

Sometimes- if the work was quick you can find the remains of the original tape stripe wrapped inside the leading edge of the door and front fender. My car was Indian Fire Red and it had Black/Gold stripes (at least the bit inside the door edge was ).

LOL, all the Mach stripes WERE black and gold, the issue is the primary color.

Mine had a black interior and gold stripes.
