Anyone have a good method of rethreading a flywheel bolt hole and the best way to remove the bolt thats stuck inside? Any assistance would be greatly apprciated.

Does the bolt move at all? The best way is an impact gun. If the impact gun won't back it out, Keep driving it back forth while spraying PB blaster into the threads you can get too. It will come eventually. Obviously get a new bolt, and see if you can fix the threads in the crank with a tap. If not, you're going to be relegated to a helicoil or an insert. Try the helicoil first.

Thanks for the reply revhead. I was able to remove the bolt last night. I retaped it but its kinda hard to find a bolt that fits inside the new hole. My engine should have about 450hp at the flywheel plus 150 shot of nitrous when I put it back together. Would it be safe to use a heli coil, or should i just try to find a bolt that will fit into the newly rethreaded bolt hole?

You tapped it and you can't fit a bolt in?

I don't get it. Were you able to find a replacement bolt for the crank? Ace Hardware has a whole bunch of grade 8 bolts you should be able to use.

450hp with Windsor Jr heads. That's incredibly optimistic.
