I was tightening the bolt in the plenum and I stripped it. The bolt just turns and turns .

How do I fix this? Threadlock, and ziptie it until it cures?

well you are gonna have to retap the hole or work with some sort of threaded sleeve, work either way. the zip tie and loc tight shouldnt be anything perminant in any case.

Thanks for the quick reply. I figured that i'd have to do that, but was looking for an alternative method since I don't have a threading tool.

Was it the bolt from the plenum to intake or the throttle body to the plenum? If it's the throttle body to plenum just use a smaller bolt and nut.

I have a sidekick.

I mentioned this about a dozen times, and nobody seems to know what it is.

Anyways, day 1: I bought tap that is too small. Day 2: I went back today, and bought another that's too small. I really wish they would put the size of the bit on instead of 10-pnc291788828 . The one 1 step bigger is a 1/4" and I'm going to have to enlarge my IAC hole to use it.

Just a thought, sometimes if the hole is deep enough you can get a longer bolt to work.Take a piece of wire or something along those lines and check the depth of the hole then check it alongside the old bolt to see how much longer you can go.If it is only a couple threads you will need to helicoil but if it is 1/4" or more you may be able to get away with a longer bolt.Have done it before in a pinch if helicoil isnt available.
