Ok so I have a aftermarket "viper excalibur" alarn system in my 94 gt 5spd. The key FOB is still the original. And its very old and ugly, is there a way I can upgrade it to a new one? I just need to be able to lock and unlock and arm and disarm no trunk. This is easy right?

Your local Ford dealer can supply a new one. It will have to be programed to the vehicle tho.

I think $100-120 at ford dealer, you need bring the car in and leave for them few hours, or call the local lock guy, and he usually do it for 80 buck, that include coming to your house and program you a new key fob., I just did this recently .

You state that it's an aftermarket system. If that is indeed the case, I'm not so sure any Ford dealer can help you out.

Viper alarms, among several others, are made by Directed Electronics. I can't be positive, but I believe the Excalibur alarms were made by another company. Does it actually say both of those names somewhere?

I would for sure find out the manufacturer, as well as the exact model number. You are going to need both to try and find a replacement remote. Depending on how old the system is, one may or may not actually be available.

If the way it looks is the only issue, you can probably find a case for it online. I would just do a search for alarm remote cases. Hopefully this helps a little.

Actuallu I have a viper decal in the window it only says Excalibur on the remote. The onpy reason is its ugly lol. I want to remove the alarm system all together but I don't know how. Its got the kill switch if I disconnect the alarm I can't start the car lol its a nightmare. The sensors are crap too. They only work if I have the remote right in front of the sensor. So I have to open the door have the alarm go off just to get close enough to push the button. If I can get new sensors that I can disarm from a distance I will be happy.
