Stupid Mustang Owner

This is a funny story. I'm in line at local hardware store and this guy in front of me (in mid 40's) starts telling the cashier he has to see if the stuff he is buying will fit into his mustang.

So me (subscriber of MM&FF & and daily browser at these boards also planning to buy an 06 Stang GT) says oh you have a mustang what ya got?

He says and 98 (I think) and an 05 GT. Oooh! A 05 GT I look out and see a dark green late 90's model stang v6. He says that the 05 at home and it was a special edition that only 3000 were made.

I was like oh yeh what makes it a special Ed. And he says it has a 351 big block in it from the factory.
I almost fell over and died. I knew right then that this guy didn’t have a 05 .

Well I played along and asked them oh ya a 351 big block. hummm Ford must be going back in tech like dodge brought back the hemi. He was like yeh and I asked him why didn’t I here about it.
He stated that only previous mustang owners were advertised for this special ed.
Oh then he proceeded to tell me that all 06's is going to have a Shelby body style and the new cobras are going to have a Porsche V8 and that the current V6 have 240 bhp. He also stated that his late 90's stang had 240 bhp too.
Looked and sounded stock to me.

post edited (sorry about attacking a guy)

I dont have a clue why this guy/stranger would lie to me about this. Can anyone tell me why. BTW I might be a newb around here but I'm a 33yr old mech engineer. I work with gas & steam turbines and play with engines.
I've mostly rebuilt V6's and one chevy 305 but i'm looking forward to building some real HP on my mustang when I get it.

What seems to be the problem here? Maybe with my vast wealth of knowledge as someone who is always fair and unbiased, I can resolve this minor dispute. If all Newbies would just remember one simple rule: Make certain that whatever you post makes everyone elses car look good or your doomed to being nothing more than an ExCon. BTW: The new Pope is GERMAN!!

actually though the story re-emphasizes the "hillbilly" stereotype of Mustang owners!

OMG!! I hate to admit it, but when I got my "breaking news" about the pope today, I immediately thought you'd be rather smug about it! Lol!

You see the picture of that guy? He already looks dead before he got the job!
I wonder if the Catholic Church will begin investing in the auto industry. Remember in the late 60's when they began investing in the cattle business? They bought up all the big ranches out west and then proclaimed it was OK to eat meat on Fridays! Stock skyrocketed within the Beef Industry. A similiar "proclamation" regarding the type of vehicle a "good catholic" drives can change the world of the auto industry as we see it!!
