Hi everyone,

I've got a 1994 GT that I picked up a few months ago with 46K on it and without any mods (which I consider a find because I'm anal about good work and I'd rather have a car w/ no mods that w/ ones done poorly). Anyway, like most of you guys, I want more than what detroit gave me I already have plans on a Griggs setup for the suspension, 3.55 rear, and a T-56 to replace my T-5. My question is for suggestions on what block to run in front of all of this. Keeping in mind that this car is primarily a driver that I want to get healthy times at the track (and meet MA strict emissions )

Run a serious 302? 347? 351W? 393W or 408W? any problems w/ certain combos? Please be as detailed and techincal as possible.

Oh yeah, last and pretty important. No turbo, supercharger, or NOS suggestions. I prefer to be old school and naturally aspirated "All throttle, no bottle!"

You have some big plans there, like a first grader planning for thier college graduation. What kind of budget do you have for the car? What I try to do is think of what bothers me the most and work on that problem, that way I don't get caught up in far dreams. I'll get there eventually, it's just a matter of time/money/blood.

It's just such a general broad question that you will could end up getting a million different possible combo's. Try doing some more research on different size motors and see what appeals to you most. Then narrow your results down.
Thats why you are not getting too many replies.

Yeah, you gotta give us more to work with. If not I'd have to say, build yourself a 331 stroker with an R block, twin turbos and 30lbs of boost with afr 225s a victor intake....all stage III ported of course, full custom exhaust, don't forget the stand alone fuel management system and 2 bottles of NOS....the big ones! LOL

Ok, if I simplify my question (and yes I had checked other posts 89Sleeper, but none of them told me much because no one seemed to have a stroker w/ any miles on it in the 50K+ range) maybe I'll get a better answer. How much HP or torque is required to get into the 12's in the 1/4 (and am I dreaming to do this and keep the car a daily driver)? Can I do it with a 302 w/ a built up bottom end, 10:1 comp, Twisted Wedge heads and intake?

My main concern is that I had heard rumors about 302's getting alot of cylinder wear due to their relatively short skirt on the pistons, therefore, I was a bit hesitant to build up one. Is this just car show B.S.?

cylinder wear? bah! I know for a fact that many of us in here have cars with around 200k miles. Anyhow, back to the issue on hand. 12s you don't need anything extreme for. you could just buy a trick flow kit or similar, full exhaust, throttle body, mass air, 36 lb injectors, bigger fuel pump and a dinky supercharger and get 12 and probably 11s if you don't suck at driving. Did I leave anything out guys?
