Has anyone ever had to deal with the loss of a SVT Certificate for thier Cobra? I am looking into a 1999 Mustang Cobra but the guy says he has lost the certificate. Can this be replaced? Can Ford help with replacement?
It can be replaced. Simply call up Ford (1-800-FORD_SVT) I believe. Tell them you just purchased a '99 Cobra. They'll ask you for the VIN number and you'll have a nice certificate in the mail shortly thereafter. That's what I had to do with my '99. Good luck! Ray
You'll have to fax them proof of ownership such as registration or bill of sale with the VIN on it and they'll send it to you...just call and see what they need from you
Q. I bought my SVT used and the previous owner could not locate the Certificate of Authenticity. How can I get another certificate?
A. You will need to call Ford SVT directly at 800-FORD-SVT and provide them with your VIN number. Ford SVT will then send you a duplicate Certificate of Authenticity which will include your SVT's production number and build date.
