i just installed my summit racing digital tach and it is very innacurate. it seems to say my engine is only ideling at 100 rpm and it doesnt get any better as the rpms increase. i spliced into the last coil pack on the driver side for a signal input. does anyone know why the tach is so far off? thanks.

Sounds like perhaps the tach isn't getting a sufficient signal from the coil primary side. What make and model of tach is it?

I had the same problem, I connected mine just like yours. The problem is you have to have a tach adapter. I actually called up auto-meter and this is what the guy told me.

this is the tach/shift light i am using. it claims no adapter needed. but apparently one is neccesary. would i need that adapter to install a nitrous window switch in the future?

No, you do not need a tach adapter for a nitrous window switch. But yes, you do need a tach adapter for a tach. Go figure, but that's been my experience. I've installed both...
