post a pic of what the hole in the tail light assembly looks like and that may help... I've seen socket assemblies that would work in my stang buckets, with the spring around the circumferance of the assembly, but I dont know if the shelby's are the same.

nope, That will not work. The cougar takes special sockets as well as the connectors that go to the back of them. As far as I know these are not reproduced. You should be able to find yourself a used set.

By the way, if you can make something else work. It takes the push in type not the twist type.

had the same problem with my conversion. i'm still looking for the pix, as i posted this up about a year ago, but i found some sockets that worked perfect at the local autozone and i replaced all 6 of the sockets on my shelby taillight housings for about $4 each!

i'll look some more and see if i can find pix and part numbers

If those fit they should work. It would normally take an 1157, but I guess you could do whatever you want.

OK, I remember how I did it now. I actually kept the sockets that was originally on the taillights. I used the "guts" of the new socket I bought at Autozone. I will go to autozone today and get you the part numbers. The spring was rusted out on my original ones and the little disc that holds the wires in place for the contacts was fubar'd too. I found a socket that had the EXACT same guts and just transfered the innards to the old housing. I used a battery post terminal cleaning brush to clean the insides of the old sockets and then painted them before putting the new innards in. Hope this helps. I will post part numbers later on today.

We carry the aftermarket ones that run $5/ea... Socket/Wiring is combined so no pigtail is needed!

PM me if you need them!
