I just got back from driving 400+ miles this weekend to go camping with my family. I noticed when I was driving, that my temperature and oil pressure guages never moved, at all. The temperature guage never moved up or down from the "O" in "NORMAL" and the oil pressure guage stayed at about that same relative position the entire time as well. I thought that when a temperature sending unit dies the temp gauge should go all the way up or down, but this did neither. What else should I check? My last car didn't have an oil pressure guage so I don't know what to look at for this one...
Thanks

OEM guages are known to show incorrect information. Get yourself some Autometer or someother type of guage to know what you're running.
they have a few things against them. first off, they suck, as said above.
their signal is sent through the voltage regulator. and they are hysteretic (as Michael Yount explains it), from the regulator and calibration. basically they show trends rather than 'real time' data.
get some real gauges and know what is goin on.
