The funny part is, is it's easier for me to read backwards than it is to look at a car with the steering wheel on the right (and I mean opposite of left...not correct) side. lol.

Hi All,

Yesterday we started sealing all the interior seams with the urethane seam sealer/adhesive. It is a lord product called "Fusor #800". It is fast curing and permanently flexible. I sealed all the lap joint seams and also some of the interior stitch welds. The material is applied with a standard caulk gun. We then go over the caulk with an acid brush to smooth it out and work it into the tight nooks and crannies.

You will probably notice that I did not do the neatest job. I was more concerned with coverage than I was with appearance. We will do a much neater job when we caulk the exposed areas of the chassis and engine bay.

We also primed the engine bay and the areas of the chassis we detailed. Looks quite a bit different from the early "fit up" stage of the shock towers, doesn’t it?

Well... It's time to get back to work.

Hi All,

Here is a little note to let you all know that I am going away for a little vacation. My wife Teri and I are going on a Mexican Riviera cruise for our 25th anniversary. We leave tomorrow and return the 16th, so... you will not be hearing from me for a while.

Wayne may look in every so often and make a comment or two, but he is going to be real busy the next week getting the chassis painted.

Talk to you all when we return on the 16th.

Hey SN65 in your seam sealing picture you've given me an excellent idea for what to do if I remove the rear seats - brace up the rear footwells with tube, which would help strengthen like subframe connectors and weld tabs to it for a false floor.

Edbert, it was very kind of you to liken my work to SN65's amazing project. Thoes guys really have energy as well as innovative ideas.......they do in a week what would take me 6 months. One thing we have in common is a principle "if it does not look like the factory did it, do it again" everything on a car modified this way has to look origional.

Hey just a thought, but SN65, since you're going for the factory look, have you thought about using like yellow paint dots and marks here and there like factory checks etc? I think it'd take the factory look to the extreme.

guess this means you won't be here with the car at World of Wheels this weekend.

Oh well, it's supposed to be too nice of a weekend for an indoor car show anyway.

65 with cobra wheels

found some pics of a 65 with 03 cobra style wheels.
I think they look a little too big for a coupe but they may look ok on the sn65 project because of the flairs, ride hight and countless other mods.

In my opinion, those look too big. Inasomuch that they don't look factory. But your right, the flairs may make a difference.

That's an interesting idea. The rectangular "FoMoCo" shock tower sticker, the "Battery OK" sticker - that sort of stuff would be effective "camoflage". At first glance, most people who see the car will of course think it's a '65-'66 chassis, modified to take the Modular V-8. Sneaky little touches from the "concours restoration" pages of the parts catalog will make it take even longer for the reality of this car to hit the casual observer in the face.

I am SN65

Yes I deserved a vacation...

And NO... I will not go back to work.

Actually.... The vacation is over and now I HAVE to get back to work.

I did have a good time on vacation. Snorkeling, Kayaking, horseback riding, climbing the rock wall, lying about, etc...

It is good to be back. Looks like I have a bit of correspondence to catch up with. I had better get busy.
