Think it would be cool to put some GT seats in an LX?

IMO, they don't look that much better. I don't know from personal experience how they feel, but I eventually plan to upgrade my seats and when I do I'll get some from a newer GT or Cobra.

I put GT seats in my old LX, they really aren't much better. Backs on them twist just like the LX seats. You'd be better off finding something nicer.

I'm putting in a pair of black lowback poly seats with black vinyl covers I have left from a failed project. They'll save weight and renew the apppearance of the interior along with some black harnesses and a new black carpet. I might have to add some foam to the covers though, kinda thin as they are. Ouch!

I've got GT seats in mine ... they really arent that much of an improvement. But if you can get them cheap, then why not .. they arent great, but are still a good step above the stock LX seats.

I got a set of fronts for $20, so it was hard to resist.

Unless you can find a nice set in good condition and not break the bank, I wouldn't bother. I personally think they look better, but they are hard to find in good condition. As mentioned they twist. Also the fabric does not look nice once it begins to wear. From personal experience, I notice that the high back seats age better. The seats hold their stance and the fabric wears less. If you want to get a nice pair of seats, I think the seats from the 85 and 86 GTs look best. Good luck finding a nice set though. They tend to be cheap, harder to find.

I like the seats with the Halo head rests, i dunno how comfy they are or if there even the ones your talking about... although in my 90 gt they have lumbar, which is a nice addition over my 93's Lx seats

The 85 and 86 seats are the seats with the halo head rests. The seats themselves are the same design, but the fabric is softer and I think they are a little more comfortable. Because the fabric is soft, it does wear easy. Another great seat is the SVO.

Yeah they came with a red halo head rest seat. But the ones I am talking about are the grey with the red piping.

Weren't '85-86 GT seats Recaros?

Hey stang2.3T, what year TC did you get the seats from? The seats in my TC are nice, but the driver's seat is full power and there's no way to hook it up in the Mustang (unless you do some cutting and splicing), thats why I didn't recommend them

No. The Recaro's were standard in the '79 Pace Car and were optional from '80-'82. The '85 and '86 Gt seats were similar in appearance to the Flo-fit seats used in the '87-'89 Saleens.
