thinkin of leaving the windshield molding off, questions

it looks unfinished with the molding off.I would powedercoat it black if your trying to hide it.

Hmmm… You going for the Rat Rod look?

What will you do with the large gaps, and the indentations provided for the mouldings?

You will have to do one of two things to make it look right or even finished.
1: You would have to have a windshield made that is bigger to go to the edge of the body line to cover what would other wise be a large unsightly gap the whole way around the glass.
2: You use the original windshield and weld in steel filler pieces the whole way around the glass to fill in the gap.
Not to mention cutting off all the tabs that are sticking out that hold the winshield molding in place.
You will also have to come up with a different way to install the glass because the factory rubber would not look or work right with either of the above ways of doing the job.

You can paint the molding to match the car.

This is what I did with my driprail molding and it looks awesome

We actually have a Flush Mount Glass kit coming out for the 64-70 Mustang fastbacks and coupes.. The weatherstrip is completely optional on the rear glass, these glass kits put the actual windshield and rear glass at sheetmetal height.. The rear glass comes in smoked options along with clear, and also comes with a nice rounded edge that allows it to be installed with out weatherstrip. The windshields come with an intergrated antenna built in the tint band, so it is complete hidden from sight, and will allow the elimination of the fender mast antenna... We will also have a Quarter Glass option for the fastbacks, that will work perfectly with out rear glasses...

Our current kits Retail 1999 dollars plus shipping through Classic Industries and other retailers, but we offer promotional pricing at 1500 dollars plus shipping for the complete set. I figure The Mustang will be the same price, and I am taking names for a contact list on my website email if you want to qualify for the promotional pricing.

Some may say this is high, but sales hasnt been a problem.. All you have to consider is the amount of body modding that would have to be done to get the same look. The amount of welding and finish work, isnt cheap at all, and your car will cost even more to reverse if you ever decided too.. Also, when people weld up the window channels, there tends to be cracking at the flex points of the body at the corners of the window opening.

Our kits come complete with New redesigned glass (winshield, rear glass, and quarter windows), the necessary Urethane, primers, and cleaning agent, weatherstrip. These kits install in a matter of a couple of hours, and is completely reversible in the same time frame.

Again, NO BODY Mods. Unlike other cars that you may have seen that narrow the window openings or add large and bulky weatherstrip, we Relplace your current weather strip and trim with Actual Glass... This gives you a look that could have been factory, so it gives that subtle but very noticable mod.

With the Rear Glass, the weatherstrip is Optional.. The red Camaro Below, was painted already and had to have the weatherstrip to cover the window channel edges to hide the chip and rub throughs that the stainless steel trim left behind. The black car above, had the glass installed after paint, so it wasnt necessary to cover anything and did not need the weatherstrip. THE REAR GLASS KIT WORKS GREAT WITH VINYL TOP CARS ALSO...
