One of my friends back in high school had a 92 eclipse GST. It dynoed 350hp and I saw it once or twice. But it broke so much he drove his moms subaru station wagon. Then he started to mod the station wagon.

What do ya'll think about this stang. Its a 1991 Gt 101,xxx red and white I think havent seen it I dunno if thats even right its a 5 speed. Guy said the inside is great and the out side is great to. Has new tires and new brakes. Only has flowmasters on it. No other mods. Needs a/c fixed has leak somewhere. And needs a overflow tank he said it has a small leak. All the power stuff works good. He wants 3,000 for it. What do ya'll think??

DSM stands for Diamond Star Motor, which means it is either an Eclipse, Talon, or Laser!

So the Stealth and 3000GT are Diamond Star Cars? Do they not count? Why must you leave them out? I'm very upset!!!

I'd pick 5.0L over DSM any day of the week, unless we're talking about wet-pavement 60' times lol...

I have a pretty quick DSM ('90 Eclipse GSX), and it's been decently reliable, but there are plenty of horror stories. Not too hard to get into the 12s with a good driver and little money..

Gas mileage in the DSM is usually not as good as advertised. I average ~ 24-26 mpg on the freeway. I got 22-24 mpg in my notchback with 3.55 gears. about the same difference in town.

that is also with conservative driving. DSMs eat gas pretty quick (any turbo car does) if you're a spirited driver. as soon as the turbo spools, gas mileage goes to hell...

Stick with the 5.0L. they are more reliable, look better (IMHO), have greater potential for just as cheap, and are easier to work on (Changing a clutch in an AWD car blows. anything involving pulling the tranny.....

okay, I'm ranting now. Just get the 5.0L.. that Mustang you mentioned sounded nice

Is it ok to run 87 are say 89 octane in these cars?? And how hard is it to get to the sparkplugs. I have a 1995 s10 4.3 those are kinda hard to change. So is it harder are not. This ant gonna stop me getting a 5.0 tho just kinda wanting to know.

I don't know about anyone else but mine is in the snow. Its bad enough in the rain. The rear just wants to swing around to where the front was. I usually just park it.

IMO I think they suck in the snow. If you barely tap the gas the *ss end will come around in a heartbeat. Don't let this discourage you, though, it just takes a little getting use to. I love my 5.0.

Rain is pretty bad too. Just keep your foot out of it when the weather is bad.

I get about 13mpg...although i think my tripometer might be messed up. If i changed to 17inch wheels would that mess up the readings? Well anyways if it doesn't I'm only 17 years old. So we know how i drive
