Those with Superchargers and gears please come in

I was wondering how my car will feel after i put 3.73's in next week, I just put the s/c in last week and although it pulls hard, it doesnt really pull until after about 4k rpm's since its a centri s/c and most of the power is way up top. My tuner told me a set of 3.73's will really wake up my car.

How did your car feel after you put gears in with the supercharger? I guess i just want some re-assurance that my car is going to pull way harder after the gears, right now i can spin the tires in second but only at WOT, I was expecting after the s/c to have a lot less traction but so far i havent had any traction problems i suppose because of the stock gears.

dude, get 3.73's man, trust me, you WILL NOT be dissapointed, i dont have a s/c on mine, but goddam i felt a difference on the take off with gears

Oh they feel great and they pull like a mad man. Only problem is that I cross the traps @ 6000-6100....otherwise I love em. And mine being turbo is about the same as your car....doesnt really pull until around 4Gs.

I love having the gears with my vortech. Only annoying thing is that once i finally make 10psi, i have to shift. I almost wish i had a little less gear, although i may have a slight boost leak causing that problem.

Honestly if you dont plan on going all out (built engine, cams, ect.) do 4.10s. I have them in my car with my vortech and love them. The only problem is now Im making so much power and running so fast at the track I hit the rev limiter at the 1000ft mark. So once my car is fixed from the wreck Im putting a built tranny, 3000 stall and putting in 3.73s in.

The car is crazy with the 4.10s though and I really dont want to pull them out but I would like to make a full pass at the track which I cant do now.

Had the gears on before the blower, but if the difference was that big n/a, could only imagine that blown would be quite a bit more.

Had 4.10 gears before the blower, great for an NA car....but after the blower it was way too much gear. I was having to shift into 5th gear before the end of the 1/4 track. With my 3.73 I seem to have a good range of torque. I think when you get to the power level that I have there will be nothing you can do to prevent tire spin.

Yes on the 3:73s. They should be perfect with your set up. I'm probably going to switch mine down to 3:73 once I get some money. But the 4:10s aren't really that bad either.

3.73s will wake it up. Deff won't feel like a roots blower (boost @2k) but deff wakes it up a lot

I already have 4.10's and dont want to do another gear swap. I rarely visit the track now, and I was crossing the line at 103 with about 10mph left until the limiter.... Is a centri/4.10 setup manageable on the street? Im not looking to run 140mph at the track, i just want to have fun with it. Ideas?

i have 3.73's in an auto with a blower. it makes the car feel better during normal driving. once i gain traction at the track at about 65-70mph, it pulls pretty strong. without a good rear-suspension and sticky tires, the 4.10's aren't worth it because you won't get that power to the ground. i'm having trouble with the 3.73's as is.

I havent been to New England Dragway in 2 years now, so i dont think i would be going often once i get the s/c (i say that now). Every time I go, i get 5 runs if im lucky, and thats without watching from the stands. Driving on the track is a hockey rink compared to the street. If the traction is that much of a problem, ill just swap the gears again. Thanks

Same with me had gears first, did not think it woke the car up at all. However once the KB went on that was a different story.

I don't have a centri,but I think the 3:73's are the perfect blower gear,till you get into the ungodly power levels then stock 3:27's would be better

Pat installing your gears for you as well? How much is he charging?

I'm getting my 3.73s installed tomorrow by a shop for $175.

KB 6psi with mild tune 342rwhp 320rwt 23mpg on the highway and 3.55 gears. With the low first gear in the T45 I wouldn't want a lower gear on the street, oh yeah, it also has an aluminum flywheel.
My application is a little different since I drive the car on 1200 mile round trips and autocross it. Maybe if I was a drag racer and only drove it around town I might bite on the 3.73s but nothing lower, first gear would be good for about 6-10 inches and you'd be looking to grab second.
