well i could have put money on it that i had E7 heads. i thought i saw the casting number before i took them to the machine shop. well today i took my heads off and i got E9SE. is this an 89 of some car. the engine and heads i used were on a 90 or 91 f150. it was my truck that i drove and it was in the family since it was new so i am pretty sure this was the original motor and heads. maybe they got mixed up at the machine shop. anyway it is too late to swap them back now.(over 1 year ago). what are the flow numbers of these heads and what are the CC sizes. this may be the reason i have the low compression numbers. are these crappier than E7 heads.

i just found out that they came off of an 89 tbird. my 90 model truck should have had E7's right. i do believe they have been mix matched at the shop.

I would be upset, they probably just swapped them out that way they had a quick turn around. Go back there and complain.

well it has been over a year ago and that shop was a highly recomended shop by many. i have a set of d80e that have been redone to my knowledge and they have had the exhaust bumps removed. i know the CC sizes are 68 or 69 but what are the E9SE heads CC sizes. i may just go with the D8OE if the sizes are about the same. i really wanna go and get some used aluminum heads of 289 heads though. the motor is going to be pulled within a week and it may be out for a while so i may have some money to spend.

I'm not completely cirtain but I thought 89 Thunderbirds got the HO motor.

they do but i guess they had different heads. http://www.carbs.net/fordnumber.htm go here and it will show you. somebody also told me that they are swirl heads which have bad valve shrouding and may be identical to the E6se heads off of the mustangs back in the day. this bothers me a little. and i am sure i won't get anything out of the machine shop.

69 CC's and they are a regular stock head. the E7s are better in the exhaust port and CCs.

ok so i probably should just try the set of D80e's that i have, they look like they have been rebuilt and i know that the exhaust bumps are removed so maybe it has a port job. i am going to try to bring them to the flowbench at school soon.
