Throttle Body and Plenum..worth it??

Trick Flow plenum and say a BBK 75mm throttle body...what will these two do for me on an otherwise stock 00GT??

Probably only 1-3 RWHP. They will be worth more with an intake, CAI, L/T's and a good mid pipe and catback.

You should look at these things as a more of a long term project...

If you plan on doing other bolt ons I say go for it...if you plan on adding other bolt ons the increase from the extra intake flow should add up to more power..


Yes, it is worth is if you keep modding and get a tune eventually.

Combined with a CAI its worth it. Id say about 10hp. Its something like
most mods, you will feel it at high rpms (WOT) more than just crusing around.
Do some exhaust mods and the benifit is increased again.
And hey.... it looks good.

I would love to get a Bullit intake. That is what the GT should have had from the factory. I mean from 87-95...the Mustang always had a nice looking intake that set off the motor. Then in 96-04..they have the tiny horse on top of the tiny plenum with an ugly plastic lower. eeehhh

thanks. I might give it a shot. I see BBK has a plenum/75mm package for $325. Might do a CAI at some point as well, but beyond that there probably won't be anymore HP mods. Car runs beautifully and I don't race so I'm not so interested in quarter times or whatever, but those times I do open it up on the road it just seems to be a little short of breath. seems some intake mods might free that up some

I would put that money towards gears. That was the first mod I did and trust me you will fell the gears. It doesnt add any hp but the car will deffinatley run faster. For what its worth I have a car that runs mid 11s in the 1/4 mile and I'm still on stock TB/Plenum.

Like said, get a CAI with the upper plenum and TB and it will net you a little more power. If you have a after-market exhaust, it will change the tone slightly but none the less on the aggressive side. Just be sure when you are modding your stang, pick the right parts that suit your combo and you will benefit from your mods a lot more I plan on getting a o/r X and shorties to compliment my other mods

+1 gears would be a great addition, that was one of the first on my list to do and it is most def worth it.

The TB and Plenum stock arent really a bottleneck untill your supercharged.

What he said. With my Paxton2000 I really noticed the diference when I added the 75mm TB and new Plenum.

You would probably notice more from a CAI and its ALOT cheaper....

i doubt this. You'd notice more from taking your spare tire out, or going on a diet - or my favorite: opening the passenger door and telling the passenger to tuck and roll.
