Throttle body (hole in butterfly?)

Do you have a hole in your TB butterfly? I have a 75mm tb and the previous owner plugged the hole with a piece of tape.
(I am in a process of fixing a surging idle. I may have found a vaccum leak)

Yes, there is a hole.

And some guys do seal it up (with something better than tape) because of the whistle or idle issues.

i know my stock tb had a hole in it, but i dont think my 70mm tb does

I just got a 65mm TB and there is a hole.

I'll be messing with my idle this week and I don't know if I should leave the hole open or closed.
So far to fix the idle I got the "Idle plate" that fits between the IAC and the TB and changing out my 30lb injectors for some used 24's with a MAF.
I also found a cracking old rubber cap thats blocking some Vaccum tubes under the upper intake manifold.
(BTW I might be looking into that "Notch above the rest" t-shirts)
