Is the $35 worth the cost of a throttle body spacer? I'm reassembling my engine and getting ready to put the larger TB and plenum on it, and my neighbor made the comment about how I sould get a spacer for the plenum.
true, but if hes talking about the throttle body spacer, it may be needed based on his intake piping and throttle cable bracket clearance to the valve cover
Yeah I was just asking about the spacer between the plenum and the intake manifold. I have a 78mm BBK that's going on but I wanted to see if the space was really worth the money before I buttoned up the engine.
I did one on my 98 GT. It caused issues with lining the EGR back up. I actually stripped the treads and had to eliminate it. Just take note and you should be able to get it hooked back up fine.
It increases port volume so make sense that a power increase could be seen, probably not going to notice it though.
Intake spacers do absolutely nothing on fuel injected engines. They were popular on carb'd applications because they altered the air and fuel velocity thus improving performance.
