Anyone have their windshield tinted? If so how much and how does it look, and does it bother you or keep you from seeing well?

I heard this will really help darken the other windows looks.

Yes, a small strip (4" or so) at the top of the windshield does help to keep the sun's glare out of your eyes during the daytime. And it will also prevent some of the "ambient" sunlight out there from coming into the interior of the cabin, especially when your other windows are already tinted. As long as you don't get crazy with it and do something like tint half of your windshield, you should be fine and won't have any visibility issues.

Isn't that illegal? I thought that you could only go down to that stupid little arrow on the top sides of your windshield. However even the strip is nice, the visors never seem to block the sun when I need them to.

It definately may help keep some of the glare out but i dont know if you want to do as little as 70-80%. Those percentages stand for the visibility, 80% visibility through it. I dont even think they make tints in percentages that high. If they do, its almost pointless to do it that high beacuse it will be basically as clear as with no tints. I know they make them in 5% which is limo tint, 10%, 25%, and 35%. If you can find a place that will do the windshield, not many places do since its VERY illegal, i'd recomend 35%, it doesnt compromise visibility and you will still be able to see out of it at nightime fairly well. I would really just get the strip and get 5% all around. It will be alot darker inside the car with the 5%, not to mention save some leather life and keep thigns cool inside with less light entering the car.

Yes its illegal. 70% is made, its the legal limit in NY state where I went to school. 32% all around here in IN I think. limo tint is going on all rear windows and something dark on the side, was going to do lighter on the side but after someone broke my window its getting blacked out now. My truck has something that closely matches the rear window on the sides and is deff. nice but could be darker. I am going to get the back window re-done on it as well to 5% over the factory tint on the rear. Keep peoples headlights out of my eyes some more.

I put limo tint over the factory tint on my 99 f 150, It is pretty hard to see cars or anything around you at night. You can still see through it to. Then again mine is a 4x4 ext cab with a three inch lift, Most passenger cars aren't even as tall as the bottom of my windows. so it might be totally different on yours.
