Ok so I just ordered the Mcleod Blowproof bellhousing for the TK0600 which is on the way. I read somewhere that i have to drill out some of the holes? Does anyone here know about that?
have to drill out the trans to bellhousing mounting holes on the transmission, you know the 4 bolts that attach trans to BH, just drill them out slowly make sure you dont oval them out and youre set, did mine myslef and worked great, oh yeah that thing is a booger to get into the car, its freaking huge
I had to drill mine out. The 4 mounting holes on the newer TKO 600's are too small for the Mcleod bellhousing mounting bolts. You need to drill the 4 mounting holes on the trans out to 1/2 inch I believe. Definitely double check that figure, but I belive it's right. When I was installing mine I forgot to check bolt fitment before I raised the trans and I got it up in there the first try no problems and went to put the bolts in and I was pissed cuz they didn't fit. Had to drop it drill it and put it back up, only it was a serious pain for some reason the second time around.
No, because the thread size of the bolt holes in the bellhousing are 1/2 in. If you use the next size smaller the tranny will be lose. Not good. Someone above mentioned indexing the bell, but assuming your crank centerline is not messed up somehow you should not have to index the Mcleod bell. It's always a good idea to check the that it's indexed properly, if you have a dial indicator and know how to do it. If you have a lakewood bell then you definitely have to index it. Don't worry about drilling it. Get someone to help you. It's easier if one person can hold it in a good position and the other can drill. Just hold the drill straight and you will be fine.

yeah for sure you have to use the supplied bolts, and you have to drill the holes out bigger, just take your time and go slow with it, it is very easy to drill through so go slow! yes and no indexing required but always a good idea, !
