Progress Thread She’s a runner

I think I’m gonna try to route the heater hoses through the fender. Also something just dawned on me, does the body of the ect sensor need to be grounded?

KZ, if you're running into problems getting a standard temp across the intake, let Steve know. He knows how to get a hold of me. I don't know how low I can get my cerakote oven down to, but am willing to give it a try. Or, you could always just cerakote it and not worry.

Thanks! I’ll probably just roll with this for now till summer. Who knows if I’ll need to make any changes anyway. I didn’t think about cerakoting. I’ve sprayed many firearms with it but not the bake on finish I think I use H series. Can’t believe I didn’t think of it.

I’m seeing they don’t recamend mounting the GM sensor in the intake due to heat soak. Doesn’t that defeat the purpose if you aren’t reading intake temps? Or is there a setting in ms to compensate this?

Lol. Basically yes, the mat air density curve and blend curve. They are already tuned for that application however and should not need to be touched. I monitor intake temps and ambient temps fwiw
Ok. I’ll pick up the GM sensor and swap out the Ford one. I do recall thinking the current sensor was a bit slow. I felt the change in temp especially when I know water/meth is being injected was delayed by a few seconds!

Oddly enough, I don't consider it enough myself. I'm stuck on wrinkle black, or straight VHT. Sad considering the H coat was originally intended for aviation and automotive parts.

@a91what which wire is which? Signal return etc...
sensor threaded right in with no issues, actually it fits better than the Ford one since it physically smaller.

That job was the biggest pain in my a** out of all I’ve done. The heater core was less of a pain.

She’s in! I have a clearance issue with number 8 coil unfortunately. It’s too tight with the cobra booster. I’ll have to come up with a solution for that but everything else looks good.

Got my old engine on the stand and am planning to do a quick cheap refresh. Bearings and rings and a hone. I’ll keep it for something down he road. Check out #2 main. The rest look like normal wear but this one was about to tell me it was done.

Ordered a new cervini hood and stifflers crossmember today. Gonna drag the car across the street and get it up on the lift and put in the tranny and exhaust
