Wild Rides racecars sells the stang box, a complete new torque box set up. Looks like its pretty hardcore. Needs to be welded in.

That is for upper control arm mounts, not the torque boxes.

I am not familiar with a company that sells a whole new torque box, and I think it wouldrequire major, major work to do them if one did. There are lots of companies who make reinforcements however -- which might be a good start for repairing damaged ones???

Where is it cracked? You can probably find someone to weld it back. Make sure you find someone that is an experienced welder. It has to be precise to make the car drive properly.

If you just weld it back its more than likely start cracking agian within a year. Thats why i asked if you weld it back and put the reinforcements in will it still crack.

Where is the crack? Is it by the bolts in the area where you would put the reinforcements or on the lip.

A good weld will not just break within a year...

I would think you will be fine (depending on how back things are of course). I'm no engineer, but the 'reinforcements' to me actually look like they take the stress from the weak part of the box (outside part where there is no frame to suppose it) and put it back into the top where there is some frame for support. So it's like extending the strong frame part over to both sides of the control arm. This is just my opinion of couse.

We weld up the cracks and add our supports all the time, no issues at all. It just needs to be done properly, make sure the boxes are back in shape before it is welded, etc...

A good weld is very strong, otherwise your entire car would just fall apart.

The weld should be stronger than the metal around it if done properly. This amazes me when they braze 2 overlapping pieces together. Very very strong even at that low heat level.
