tq tune out performs race tune at the 1/8 mile

I took my car to the 1/8 mile track today. The DA was around 3800' My first two runs I had Doug's 91 race tune. My times were:
60' 2.371
E.T 9.347
MPH 80.411
Sea level corrected: 8.9132 at 84.376

Next run: 60' 2.257
E.T 9.297
MPH: 78.007
corrected: 8.8657 at 82 MPH

Here are my times with the tq tune:
Best time: 60' 1.980
E.T 8.970
MPH: 80.885
corrected: 8.553 at 84.9 MPH

Next run: 60' 2.203
E.T 9.188
MPH: 80.231
corrected: 8.761 at 84.2 MPH

nice man. I was running 9.3's with a 2.3 60 foot on a bone stock motor, just exhaust.

9.3 is a good time for stock. Even when I had the 89 tq tune and no CAI it was hard for me to get into the 9.3 range, but my times were also affected by density altitude. A lot of factors affect your times. The best way to improve is practice.

Yea, I was wheel hopping like crazy. Hell, i was racing a 4.0 v6 car, he was coming out the hole faster then me. I quickly ran by him when i got to hit second, but till then he ate me up.

One time I had such bad wheel hop I ran a 10.65. I am starting to learn how to launch the car with minimal wheel hop and spin.

I very well could have, but i said screw it and the very same night i went home and ordered adj UCA and LCA's. Might be taking it out tonight on DR's to see how it does.

First time I ran I wheel hopped like crazy. Now that I have BMR UCA and LCAs I have zero wheelhop and much better times!

I talked to Alex at Bamachips and he said because of the throttle response the race tune should have been faster.

That could be the case; however, other people have also said they got better times with the TQ tune.

While I did run my best time with the race tune, I didn't try the torque tune. But as far as I'm aware, the Race tune is basically the same as the torque tune down low, it just breathes better up top. In theory, you should get better times on the race tune. But if they're not dyno tunes, it's highly possible for one to perform a little better than another one.

I thought the race tune was closer to the performance tune but with better throttle response.

I've heard people having performance issues with the Brenspeed 91oct tunes out here in AZ.

not too much talk about the other tunes (bama)
