I have a T45, which side of the transmission is the drain plug on? Also do I just open it up, let the fluid drain and the plug and fill from the shifter (I'm putting a Pro 5.0 in at the same time)

Thanks for any info.

It should be on the pass. side on the bottom. If you are going to drain the
tranny(that sounds funny for some reason) w/ the shifter installed pull the fill plug out so the old fluid will not "gurgle" out on ya. The best thing to do is to leave the shifter off, fill plug out, and after fluid is all drained, install the drain plug and fill the tranny from inside the car thru the shifter location untill fluid starts to run out of the fill plug hole.

Where is it for the Tremec 3650? Where is the fill plug as well?

Fill plug should be on the pass. side about half way up the tranny. The drain plug is on the very bottom pointing strait down(that is a sure fire way to tell that you have a 3650).

How often should the fluid be changed in a 3650? I've got about 16,500 miles on mine. I've also got some gear grinding from when I was learning to drive stick, plus some track use and just general abuse.

I like to change mine once a year(usually on my b-day, just a day I do my yearly stuff) but I drive my stuff a lot. Check and see how your clutch pedal feels, if the pedal starts to low to the floor it will not give the disc long enough to unload the tranny good to shift. I have seen often more than not that the factory "self adjusting" quadrant be all the way out by your mileage and a good adjustable cable and quadrant cures the gear crunch on the 3650's because they are a little more finichy than the t-5/t-45 from the past.

What does the clutch have to do with changing tranny fluid?

Nothing at all. I was just assuming that you was refering to a gear crunch when you shift(common complaint on the 3650), but do see that you where refering to when you first got the car a ground a couple of times learning.

If you fill from the shifter, be careful not to overfill. The limit is to the bottom of the fill hole
