sounds like the synchro or fork is done. best bet it to take it to a tranny shop and see what they say

it's a common problem on the t-45

first you need to make sure you have enough clutch gap, reverse is really sensitive to this.

you should be able to let up on the clutch until it's at least 1 inch off the floor without the rpm's starting to drop. If you have the stock quadrant you can try pulling up on the clutch pedal firmly with your hand.

If you have a aftermarket quad and adjuster you need to adjust your cable until you have enough free play at the bottom of the clutch pedal.

the other thing it could be is a bent shift fork. there is a TSB on the reverse shift fork being bent. BUT when this is the problem the trans grinds and bangs when you put it in reverse.

trans problems also

i have a similar problem. just recently i started to have problems with my reverse. the shifter goes into reverse fine but once in a while, it pops out of reverse. i don't have any problem with the other gears, only reverse. and it only happens sometimes. i have no idea what the problem is.

...

Well from what i have read t-45 dont have reverse syncro's .... and i dont understand why it would be bent fork when it work complely fine once i drive the car for a bit going forward .... when i try and put it in reverse it doesnt grind or anything its like it wont even let it go into gear and once i get it to go into gear it still doesnt grind or anything... could this be an issuse with the tranny fluid? maybe if i changed it might help out?
