The new Trend Micro update requires the removal of MalwareBytes. There's lots of threads about this and everyone that I've read suggests permitting the removal then reinstalling after the update. I saw another for adding exceptions to Trend Micro (outside of most folks comfort zone).
None of that is necessary.
When the Trend Micro window pops up, click the button to allow it to remove MalwareBytes. This will start the uninstall process for MalwareBytes. When the uninstall window comes up and asks if you are sure, tell it "No".
Whatever idiot coded it, forgot to have it go back and check to see if the uninstall was accomplished.
The upgraded completed normally otherwise.
