I've had both.. I like my Pro-5.0 better. Just feels better to me. Some people combine the two (ex. Pro 5.0 base with Tri-Ax handle) and seem to like it that way as well.. but if it were me.. Pro-5.0!

Oh no, not this dreaded topic again. Ok here how its going to go. 45% of us will say Pro 5.0, 45% will say Steeda,10% will say the pro 5.0 w/ a steeda handel.

I use a steeda and its great.

you hit the nail on the head with that one....

...from the reading ive done you cant go wrong with either of them...so i guess it either comes down to brand loyalty, personal preference, or price....when i get around to buying a short throw...the tri-ax will be it...

No, both are not the same. I've had both in my Stang for several months each, and I definitely prefer the Pro5.0.

If they are not the same, then what are the major differences? I am in the market to purchase one also, where would I get the best deal at?

I've got a Pro-5.0 and I love it. I have driven a Mustang with a Tri-Ax though and thought my shifter felt better. You can't go wrong with either one though.

Pro 5.0 is much nicer than the Tri-Ax, IMO. The Tri-Ax seems notchier and harder to pull.

Whoever said Hurst, that may not be a bad idea either. Their shift knob is awesome too. You can't go wrong with a Hurst.

Joe, that Hurst shifter is a turd. I drove a buddy's and I would have prefered the stocker.

That's odd. I've liked all of Hurst's products.

Oh well....
