I don't have that problem, but I do know that other people have. And like stated previously, I've heard there is no fix for it yet.

It's all normal. Get used to it since there is no enginerring fix. Don't worry, the car gets plenty warm anyway! Plenty of heat coming off of that V-8.

No it's not normal and don't let a dealer tell you that it is. If it really bothers you, and they can't fix it LEMON it.
Make them stand behind their product.

Typical american mentality by Ford. As long as people are buying the car ignore the problem and tell the customer it's normal.
Mine does the same thing but since I'm putting it away for the winter I won't worry about it. It's too bad because it really is a good car. These are the types of things I never had owning Japaneese and European cars.

In addition to an 05 Mustang GT, we own a VW New Beetle which also flows air thru both the defroster and vent outlets when the climate control is in the heater position. The little bit of airflow thru the other 2 outlets keeps the windshield free of fog, frost, and ice, and warms the upper body. For me that's a nice feature.

I have a new 2006 GT and mine does it as well. I called the dealership I got it from and the service guy I talked to hadn't heard of it, but I knew of it as a common problem long before I even bought the car. It doesn't bother me too much, I can use the setting for midlevel/floor heat, and then close off my midlevel vents and this seems to be an effective workaround. I don't get any air coming from any vent other than the floor when I do that. I don't think there is a service bulletin out on this, though there should be. Can anyone reference an actual TSB on it? Maybe not enough people are demanding fixes for it. I will make an official request to have it fixed next time I take it in for service.

Last I had heard, the Mustang's defrost was SUPPOSED to work this way, for just that reason. FWIW, mine may do it, but it is unnoticeable.
