Just traded the wifes csrt-4 for a new 09 ram 1500 4x4 big horn (hemi ofcoarse) it didnt come with a bed liner and I would hate to scratch it up so im looking for a spray in bed liner. I see alot of brands like Rhino, Line X, Vortex etc...which is best and how much should I expect to pay for an under the rail job?

I understand the cost of LineX and others is around 3-400 bucks to line the bed of a truck. I bought a kit called Raptor for $90 and did my sons truck myself. The hardest part was cleaning and prep. If I did it again I would like to find something to prep the paint. Different brands seem to have diff textures too.
COLORS yes you can get it done in different colors too, they just mix the pigment in it.

What was involved in the prepping and how long did it take you? And how is it holding up?

Cleaning a used bed was my biggest prep part. Maybe wipe down with Acetone or somethin.Tape up cab and sides with news paper to prevent overspray. Time was only an hour and a half to mix and spray. The Raptor kit come with a sprayer. Seems to be holding up well but my son does not use the back for anything other than garbage removal. My buddy has Line-x and it looks a little thicker than the Raptor.
Ride around and look at some others first.

I had Line-X sprayed in the bed of a pickup I had - you couldn't hurt that stuff! I hauled all the materials to build a deck as well as mulch, dirt, trees, concrete blocks, etc, and all that happened was it wasn't quite as black afterwards. They did have to sand the bed with extremely course paper prior to application, shcocked the heck out of me!

Krappola! No disrespect but you will regret that if your gonna use the bed of the truck for anything other than sleeping in it.

Line-X, hands down. it is the best looking and last the longest. pony up and spend the extra $$ on Line-X, it is worth it.

for proper application, they should be scuffing the paint. the tool they use looks like a big buffer with broom bristles. it roughs up the paint for proper mechanical adhesion. yeah, it may stick without the mechanical adhesion, but it makes sure the lining will not peel off.

I had a bedrug in my lightning and I have one in my Saleen. I haul more than most do in those two trucks....dirt, mulch, concrete blocks, trees, furniture....you name it.

I dont have one scratch on my bed, its easy on my knees when loading stuff up, and I can vacuum and hose it....even pressure wash it.....and have had no problems whatsoever.

I guess I should also add that I have a rollup hard tonneau cover. If you dont have a tonneau (hard or soft)....I would lean toward the sprya in.
