Well it happened.... AGAIN.
DVR decided to up and take a dump all over my recorded programming by failing to boot. I think the board overheated and burned out. Since the cloud recording are tied to the MAC address of the device vs. the account, if I get a new box, I lose my recorded shows. So I am making a list of season/episodes and making the leap to cut the cord.
So diving into things deeper, I am looking at Fire Stick 4k and going with Hulu Live without ads, plus the entertainment package (same as Discovery+ without the need for an extra app), plus an enhanced cloud DVR storage for local programming. All of this for $68 less per month than what the cable company wants. And even if I have to up my internet data package from 1.25TB/month to unlimited I am still going to save $51 per month.

Wow! should have done this sooner, but with everything happening with family over the past 3 years, it just was not that important.
So instead of setting up the fire stick to the TV, I decided to connect it to my Denon receiver. So now I get picture on the TV with surround sound from the stereo. Love the HDMI setups. Up and running in about 10 minutes and works fantastic so far. Out of 118 normal program series that we record throughout the year, only 2 were unavailable through Hulu and we did not have too much interest invested in them so win/win. I must also note that the picture no longer jitters like it did with the cable box, and the tv is a 240hz system.
THANKS to everyone who posted and voiced their thoughts and opinions!!
