i was wondering where you can buy a decal to go over the black padding under the hood. Looking for a ford racing decal but open to any suggestions and places to look.

I think you may have a hard time getting a decal to adhere to the hood blanket. In any event, try a local graphics shop. They'll be able to make up anything you want.

speaking of that thing, what does it look like under it? Mine is old and nasty, and wanted to clean under the hood. Would it look ok if i just took it out? What about buying a replacement of some type?

If I get motivated, I'll go pull the liner out of mine (stock hood is leaning against the wall in the shop) and take a pic.

I'm guessing it is unpainted, or lightly sprayed with just basecoat. At least that's how it is on my Cobra, I have never removed the liner on my 95.

You can get a new hood blanket from 50resto.com for $68.
