Uneven drop from springs? How to fix?

It's been bugging me for a while now. But my passenger rear side does not drop as much as the driver rear side. It's about 1/2" difference. Also my passenger rear is squeeking. I have steeda springs and tokico illumnas shock.. anyone know how to fix this? other people won't notice it... but me.

i think its a mustang trait, my 93gt was like this before and after i lowered it, my 00gt was like this before and after lowering and my mach1 is about a quarter inch higher on the passenger rear than the drivers rear

hmm that's interesting... can anyone confirm this? I remember reading about a guy that has uneven drop as well...

i've heard a "theory" on this, i have no idea if has any truth to it at all.

i've heard that the right side will sit lower occasionally due to that's the way the car torques on a hard take off.

but my better judgement guess would be you need to turn your passenger side spring a bit so it's even with the other. if the pig tail on the springs are not facing the proper way, it can cause one side to ride a bit higher

yea i figured that at first.. I spent about 30 min lining up the 2 springs so I doubt that that what caused it... thanks for sharing the "theory" though

Mine is uneven too. Pass. side is about 1/2" taller.

I think it is the fact you sit on the driver side all the time.

I installed Eibach Pro-kit and had about 3/4" difference between the two sides. I even put the taller ones on the driver's side. I'm usually the only one in the car so that may have made the driver's side settle first. I was out of town a couple of weeks this year and while I was out I put 100lbs of weight on the passenger side floor and this did help settle the passenger side out and now the difference is only half as bad.

so you didn't put it in the trunk? hmm... i'll have to try that

When you replaced the rear springs, did you install the tangs in the same position? Are the isolators in good shape? Things to consider...

I replaced the springs on my car with a Eibach Pro-Kit , before my car was higher on the right side ( passenger front & rear ) so I thought it will level with the new springs but no it was still the same so I removed the insolator on the rear right side to doubled the rear left one and for the front( kept insolator) I lined up the end of the right coil on toward the inside of the car and the left side toward the outside of the car . It did solve most of it now I have less then 1/4" difference compare to over 1/2".

I didn't put the weights in the trunk because there was a bigger difference between the front passenger side then the rears. BTW...nice avatar

You can get some adjustable "weight jacker" LCA's that allow you to set whatever height you want. Obviously this would only address the rear. I see in your mod list that you already have MM LCA's so you likely won't gravitate to my suggestion. However, as I have seen it there are three good makes for this type of arm (and likely more): MM, Steeda, and Pro3i.

could it be the battery located on the driver side? you can have it relocated to the trunk with a kit, this helps out your balance as well. you won't do that nose dive when you brake or shift gears, just one smooth ride. just a thought.

mine is a lower on one side too, but not as much as you guys....barely enough to notice, i would say 1/4 of an inch or so. i think thats just because theres more weight on the drivers side.

I have a Bullitt with the stock springs. My car sits 5/8" higher in the back on the passenger side. Never noticed it until I changed my wheels out. You can buy thicker isolators for the side that sits lower.

you can turn the springs in the rear so that it will sit higher or lower by about half an inch. There is a high and low seating position.. so just turn one of the springs or both so that they are sitting the same way.

Yea but as I stated above.. both springs are in the same position. Anyhow.. I"ll try the weight thing first.. if that didn't work out too well.. then I'll adjust the springs.. thanks for all the replies..

the weight jacker control arms are what i used on my 93 to level the rear out
