The University of New Haven chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers is hosting a car show October 10 on their North Campus. The role of the ASME on campus is to educate engineering students by providing them with hands-on projects, tours of engineering facilities, relevant charitable works, and connections for internships and employment.

-Date: Sunday, October, 10 2010 10:30am – 4:00pm

-Cost: $10 per car, $8 per car with UNH ID, $1 for spectators.

-Show will be judged with awards and prizes.

-Food and drink will be available.

-Location: University of New Haven (in West Haven, CT) North Campus
University of New Haven - Directions

-All makes, models, and years welcome.

-Proceeds support the ASME’s main hands-on project, the SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) Supermileage Vehicle. The goal of this competition is to design, build, and race a vehicle that achieves the highest fuel economy possible, within a stringent set of rules. Our 5 year plan, already underway, has a goal of 1500+ MPG. The vehicle, which is undergoing an overhaul and upgrade from last year’s completion, will be on display at the show.

-This is a laid back, friendly event, which we hope to turn into a yearly tradition.

Come out and enjoy one of the final shows before the weather gets cold!

Welcome to Facebook

We are working really hard to make this event the best we possibly can. We have secured an event sponsorship from Summit Racing (which means goodies for attendees), as well as official backing from the school. This is just the beginning.
