I've been on a few posts lately where I told everyone I would have my new quarter times following the swap from a performer RPM dual plane to a Victor Jr and the addition of a 6 point roll cage. (more weight)
As promised, here they are;
Just ran the Nostalgia Drags in Wentzville, MO this weekend and made it to the semi-finals in the 11.5 to 12.0 index class. The car ran consistant 11.55's at 117 to 118MPH all weekend long on 9" slicks through full exhaust and a low 2500 stall. 3:73 gears, all metal body, no bottle. Every other car in my class had open headers, lots of fiberglass, tubbed or mini tubbed rears and few looked like they wouldn't make it far on the street if they ever saw the street.
My best last year minus the roll cage and with the dual plane was an 11.70 at 115. My 60' best last year was a 1.60 and I couldn't get any better than a 1.62 this past weekend but I'll take the trade off anytime.
Anyway, that's my story. Next Nostalgia race in August and I will be adding some lightweight front wheels with skinny's, maybe a glass hood, electric fan, and I might even uncork the exhaust. Hoping for high 11.30's by then. Until then the street wheels go back on and I drive it once or twice a week 27 miles back and forth to work.
