UPR k-member, is UPR a good company

So I just did my clutch and I had to take off one side of my LT's. I am totaly ticked off about my Long tubes they are rusting after 1 year(really bad) and they get in the way of everything. Not to mention that they are rubbing on some new part of my frame after re installing it.
The Long tubes have me so mad that I am going to get a tubular K-member almost solely so that I have more room for the headers and to work on my car from underneath.
Good thing is this gives me an chance to get something that kicks ARSE installed in my car. What do you guys know about UPR frome other suspension products and preferably thier K-member because there is no review for those. Any other companies to look at for those? I want good handling and lighter weight most importantly is ease of install I am getting mad at products like MAC Lt's becuase they don't fit quite right..
I want to drop my car an inch or so while I am at it so anything else related is apreciated.

With all due respect to you...long tubes or any headers are going to rust out within a short period of time. As long as they aren't rusting so bad leaks are forming you should be fine. Look at the stock exhaust manifolds! They rust out in 2-3 months after driving a brand new car off the lot. Its the hottest part of the vehicle and rust is just a byproduct of that heat.

The only way to not have a rusted out pipe is to get a true JET-HOT coated header. If you do that then it wont rust but it'll also be kind of a waste of money unless you have a show car.

no no no no no. You don't understand how bad these things are rusting. There are spots that have rust pits that are almost through the tubes. Grant, I do live in Minnesota where they use more salt on the roads than can be found in the Dead sea.

UPR does have some good things but I bought a big mouth filter from them and it just fell apart I do have their x-pipe and its great. They are hit or miss. I would go with another cmpany for a K member.

i have their k-member,a-arms, and their coilovers and i have had no problem with them.i bought the chromemoly k-members and the person who in stalled
them at houston performance said that he would put them on his car.

if your looking for light ,then i beleive upr's chrome moly is the lightest on the market.

I have the UPR C/C Plates no problems with them. Buts thats all I have from them.

How did it fall apart was it a bad weld or something like that?

I would go with the Kenny Brown or Steeda piece...spend a little more to be sure that you are getting a quality part. I'd also suggest that you replace your A-Arms and all of your bushings at the same time.

Bill Putnam(Mustang92) uses UPR products and has had lots of luck with them. I believe he also uses their UPR K-member setup as well. We all know how fast he is lol.
