Anybody want start planning a meet up or cruise night in the Albany/Uitca area......i would travel to meet up with some of the Stangnet guys!
shoot some ideas if you've got anything!

I'd be interested. You could plan it around a local cruise-in where everybody could hook up for a couple hours and then go for a drive or pick a spot like hooters to connect at. I have tried this before and the weather will kill the best plan, quicker than a heart attack, just the threat of rain will be enough to kiss it goodbye, but it is still a good idea. ide be up for that....im sure i could gather 4-5 local guys for the same......lets get some more interest and we'll see what happens.....i will PM as well...just really busy at the moment

I tried to get a couple of you guys to email me so I could send you my club newsletter, with all the events. It was too big to attach, so I uploaded it somewhere, here is july's, august should be out by the end of the week. ASMC July Newsletter

the big hangout in the tri-city area (Alb-Troy-Schen) is the McDonalds in front of the Kohl's plaza, in Colonie, just east of RT155 on RT5 (Central Ave) about 1/2 between Albany and Schenectady on Friday and Saturday nights. That is where the street racing starts, people hang and talk smack. Weds night in the same place they have "Leadfoot Lucy's" cruise in. Tonight we are going over to the Bear's Drive in rotterdam, for a cruise in. Tomorrow (weds) we will be going out to Lebanon Valley Dragway for the weds test-N-tune, 30mi east of Albany, for some racing fun, that is also a great hangout, even if you only come to watch. every other Thursday is the best cruise in NE at Hemmings in Bennington VT., last thursday it looked like Carlisle!

pick a night you want to come out and work it from there. I can get some locals and make it a little event, either meeting at the track, a cruise in or Hooters and the cruise somewhere from there.

pick a date and maybe a rain date as well.

well......Friday night would be great....if the weather holds out.
Its about 1.5hour drive out there so a work night is a real pain.
I dont know my way around Albany so well....but i could definatly meet up with you at the Hooters...if your talking about the one in the Crossgates mall??

we could go from there......let me know if this will work for you....i will get some others to join me.

Is it mostly mustangs.....i have some buddies with low 12sec. DSM's and a couple others that would come.
is the turn out good on fridays or just ok....if i come out i want it to be good!

Friday I was planning on going to the McDonalds "lot" in colonie. I could goto hooters first and show you where the hang out is, it is about 2 miles from crossgates. watch the weather and if it looks good, verify you are still coming and I will pm you my cell phone, OK. I think a friend from work will go with his vette, there are a bunch of sick cars at the lot. a herd of mustangs would be cool. Tomorrow night I'll mention it to a few of the mustangs racing at the strip.

well i usually hang out with a couple 5.0s, 2 DSM's, a Cyclone and a s2000.

im sure they will all come.....is the turn out good at the "lot"

like i said its a good drive and i dont want to be disapointed!!

ah man.......i just found out that Friday night they are having a test and tune/ grudge matches at the local track.
only $8 a car unlimited runs.
sorry but i want to run my car....maybe we can get something going for next friday Aug 12th....lets try for that night.
I know there are a good number of guys in the albany area that are on stangnet...lets make it a stangnet meet!!

Idea for a meet!

CALL OUT TO ALL TRI-CITY LOCAL STANGERS and TO ANYONE WANTING TO TRAVEL TO SARATOGA NY!!

Tuesday night, 8/16, the place to be is the cruise in at "Mr. Ed's" on RT 29, just west (1-2mi) of Saratoga Springs, heading toward Schylerville but closer to Saratoga. The Saratoga track meet has a lot of extra people in the area so here is your chance to come do some people watching. I plan on getting there early and I'll try to stake out an area we can string a few Stangs together. There is always a good number of older ones but lets see how many we can gather. We could drive around Saratoga and maybe other spots that really hop in August afterwards, all that can be arranged at the cruise in. It is free to participate, actually you get a free ice cream cone, they award best of show plaques and they have good food too! One of the best kept secret Capital District cruise in's that can draw up to 80 to 100 cars on a good night.

A buddy is coming with his 10th annv 03, plus there might be a couple of my clubs Shelby GT's there, sounds like a fine evening setting up. I hope we can do some cruising thru the Toga and people watch during the dark day (no racing tuesday's). Don't be shy, come on out, even if you don't have your main ride, you will be surprised how good this little cruise in at Mr. Ed's is!

not any further south, but next Thursday 8/25, Hemmings Motor News in Bennington Vt., will have their last cruise in for the season, and if you want to see and participate in one of the best run, open to all cruise in's, don't miss this one next Thursday. If anybody heads out, make sure to say hi and point out your ride. I went to the 7/28 one but had to miss the last one, no missing this one!
