Urgent Help needed

How do I release the fuel pressure 88LX Hatch 5.0L
I have a leaking fuel filter and Iam in the middle of changing it

I think you can just push in the schrader valve on your fuel rail to bleed off the pressure. I would definitely hold a rag around it tightly when you press it down so you don't have fuel where you don't want it!

I usually just let it squirt and dribble when I disconnect the filter. It is less than two tablespoons worth of fuel. Just don't let it get in your face...

If that won't work for you, there is a schrader valve on the fuel pressure line located just behind the alternator. Remove the cap and depress the valve core. Fuel will squirt out and the pressure will be relieved. The only problem is unless you have a fitting that connects, seals, and presses the valve core, the fuel still squirts all over the place.

Manually pop the inertia switch and start the car. It'll run for all of about a second and you'll have no pressure left.

where is the inertia switch located in a 88 hatch??
I got the filter replaced, must have disturbed a fuel line cause it was leaking. I fixed that also
Another quick job gone bad
