why should someone spend the extra cash for a serpentine setup....or is it worth it? (non daily driver)

Sometimes it's easier to keep the serpintine setup if your swapping in a newer motor.

Otherwise, I think they are able to drive high load accessories better becasue of their "notched" design. It takes alot more HP to drive a 130amp alternator than what it took to drive our 40amp stockers.

well, my accessories are stock. I will probably respool my alt to output 100 amps or so. I MIGHT go with a highflow Waterpump too. Other than that...I have NO accessories. Just pump and alt. I dont know if I should go serpentine or stick with my vbelts. Id really like to keep my vbelt for that old school look.

opinions?

I like both setups for different reasons. I say go for what is easiest with your application and what is most cost effective.
