Click through the photos and check out the additional export brace made out of swingset A-frame cross-braces. After seeing that, I think my jalopy must be worth millions!

I am not an expert, but wouldn't that thing twist to pieces if you tried to pull it out with all the bottom rusted out? Convertibles are not very strong to begin with, are they?

Braces are correct.

YIKES! I think the only thing I saw that's salvageable was the glove-box door!

I paid less than that for old Sadie.

Mustang buying tip #1: If you need a weed whacker or a chainsaw to get to the car, it's probably not worth buying.

Reminds me of a 1964 Impala SS convertible I went to look at once. It too had been abandoned without a top. It was so bad even the dashboard was rusting away!

As pointed out above, those cross braces are correct for the 65 and up, which is by the way a quick way to ID a 1964-1/2, as they lack those cross braces.

The ones I'm talking about aren't the two piece export brace to the shock tower, they are the tubular ones that extend all the way to the front aprons. I looked at verts on ebay and saw that they had them while any coupes I've seen only have the firewall to shock tower braces.

We know! We know! Those are on all 65 and 66 convertibles in addition to the regular braces, but not on 64-1/2 convertibles. They are never stock on anything else.

That makes it perfectly clear! The way I read it earlier I somehow interpreted it to say All '65-'66 model cars, but not '64 1/2 convertables.

I work alone with two CNC machines all day, so sometimes the only language I comprehend is G-code.

That thing is Cherry. I know a guy who would buy it and put it back into it's natural habitat, another weed pile where the blackberry bushes could grow up through the floor boards.

Would that be labeled a "fixer-upper"?
