does anybody know how to interpret vin numbers? Is there a book or something? Should i call a dealer or somebody? thanks---Phil

While the VIN gives the legal identication of the car, the data plate is more informative. It data plate is found on the inside rear of the driver's door. This can be decoded by the sites mentioned above or a decoder book available from the vendors. I carry one of these books in my car.
